We have some exciting changes for 2021, and the first is your plan name. Going forward, your Medicare Advantage plan will be HealthTeam Advantage rather than Teal Premier. 

Don’t worry! Your plan benefits remain the same and your HealthTeam Advantage PPO plan covers everything Original Medicare covers plus all the other things you need, like prescriptions, dental, vision, hearing, and fitness.

  • $0 monthly premium for PPO I or $60 monthly premium for PPO II
  • $0 copays for primary care providers (PCPs)
  • $0 deductibles for medical and prescriptions
  • Dental, vision, hearing and SilverSneakers® fitness benefits
  • Telehealth and 24-hour nurse advice line—from the comfort of your home
  • Friendly formulary covers more preferred generic and generic drugs than other Medicare Advantage plans in our service area
  • Low maximum out-of-pocket cost to members

Like our Teal Premier plans, our HealthTeam Advantage plans are available to residents of Anson, Burke, Cleveland, Lincoln, Stanly, and Union counties. Additionally, HealthTeam Advantage adds Alamance, Davidson, Davie, Forsyth, Guilford, Randolph, and Rockingham counties to their service area as well!

Now, as a HealthTeam Advantage member, our provider network includes (just to name a few):

  • Atrium Health
  • Cone Health
  • Cornerstone Health
  • Wake Forest Baptist Health
  • UNC Health

Another plus to being a HealthTeam Advantage member is your national Telehealth benefit. As a Teal Premier member, Telehealth benefits were provided through Atrium Health and service areas were limited. With our HealthTeam Advantage telehealth benefit, you can have a virtual visit online or over the phone from anywhere, nationwide!

You also have access to our HealthTeam Advantage Living Plus health and wellness program, a pilot program we rolled out this year. The program focuses on active living, healthy eating, and social connections for members of all abilities. It includes education, events, and classes with topics ranging from increasing bone and muscle strength, reducing the risk of falls, increasing energy and a sense of well-being, to increasing your memory and concentration! You’ll see HTA Living Plus content in your monthly digital newsletter (yes, you’ll still get that!), a quarterly print newsletter, and on the HealthTeam Advantage Facebook page.

As your local Medicare Advantage plan, we’re here for you and we listen. Based on your feedback, we’ve made improvements to your 2021 benefits you’ll enjoy and appreciate.

We’re partnering with national carriers Delta Dental® and VSP® vision this year. That means a larger network of providers and more convenient options for your dental and vision care.

We’ve also added Custodial Care. That’s personal, professional non-medical care when you need it most—after you’ve been discharged from a hospital, either to your home or to a nursing home. Benefits like Delta Dental®, VSP® vision, and custodial care are also included in your Evidence of Coverage, Annual Notice of Change, and Summary of Benefits.
